Why Is This Chart Useful?
It can be used alongside the other Address Balance charts to understand whether adoption is increasing or decreasing generally for Bitcoin over time, and also whether usage is increasing or decreasing among specific cohorts.
For example, there are times when the number of addresses that hold small amounts of bitcoin significantly increases, while over the same period, there are decreases among addresses that hold larger amounts of Bitcoin. Having access to that type of information alongside other data can be valuable to the strategic investor.
